Guidance, not a fatwa. Zakat rulings vary by school (e.g. Hanafi uses silver for nisab; others use gold; rounding differs). Zakat applies to wealth held above nisab for a full lunar year. Consult a qualified scholar for your situation.

🕌 Calculated on your device. The optional "live prices" button is the only network call — it fetches just the public gold/silver spot price and exchange rate; your amounts never leave your browser.

How It Works

Zakat is 2.5% of zakatable wealth (cash, gold, silver, business assets minus debts) held above the nisab threshold for one lunar year. Nisab is the value of 87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver (many scholars round to 85 g / 595 g). This calculator does the arithmetic on your device; metal prices can be typed in or optionally fetched live.

  1. 1
    Enter your assets and debts
Cash, gold and silver (in grams), business stock, other investments, minus liabilities. Pick your currency.
  2. 2
    Set the nisab basis
Silver nisab is the inclusive default for mixed assets (used in the Hanafi school); switch to gold if you hold only gold. You can use the rounded grams (85/595) or precise (87.48/612.36).
  3. 3
    Get your zakat
The tool shows your total zakatable wealth, whether it meets nisab, and the 2.5% due. Rulings vary by school — this is guidance, not a fatwa.
