Free Gamepad Tester

Test a game controller in your browser: see every button, stick and trigger live, check stick drift, and try the vibration motors.

Connect a controller and press a button. Every button, trigger and stick shows live, with the exact values your browser receives.

No controller detected yet

Connect the controller by USB or Bluetooth, then press any button or move a stick. Browsers keep a controller hidden from web pages until it is used once.

Press any button to wake the controller. Browsers do not list a gamepad until it sends its first input. If it still does not appear, reconnect it, close other programs that may be using it, and press a button again.

Drift: leave a stick alone and the tester averages where it rests. Under 5% from centre is within the normal range, 5% to 15% is slight drift, and 15% or more is noticeable. Many games hide small values with a dead zone.

Made for desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Controller support on phones and tablets varies by device and browser.

๐ŸŽฎ Controller input is read in this tab only and is never stored or uploaded.

How It Works

The page reads your controller through the browser's Gamepad API many times a second and draws what it reports.

  1. 1
    Connect and wake the controller
Plug in or pair the controller, then press any button. Browsers show a gamepad to a page only after its first input.
  2. 2
    Press buttons and move sticks
Each button lights up while pressed and turns green once tested, with its analog value shown. Sticks are drawn live with their numeric axis values.
  3. 3
    Check for drift
Let a stick rest. After a moment the tester shows how far it sits from the centre and whether that is normal, slight or noticeable drift.
  4. 4
    Try the vibration
If your browser exposes the controller's vibration motors, press "Test vibration" to play a short rumble.

Controller input is read in your browser tab only. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
