Regional variation is real. Traditional units like the tola and ratti were never perfectly standardized. The historical ratti ranged roughly 0.11-0.18 g; jewellers often round the ratti to 0.1215 g and treat 96 ratti = 1 tola. Pakistani markets quote a 12.5 g "bazaari" tola, while India / Bangladesh use 11.6638 g. Always confirm the standard your jeweller or assay office uses before trading.

How It Works

This converter changes traditional South Asian gold weight units into one another and into metric and bullion units. It works purely on mass — it never prices gold. Pick your regional tola standard first, because the tola, bhori, masha and ratti all depend on it.

  1. 1
    Choose your tola standard
Select the standard 11.6638 g tola (India, Bangladesh, Nepal and the jewellery trade) or the Pakistani 12.5 g 'bazaari' tola. The chosen standard rescales the tola, bhori, masha and ratti so you never silently get the wrong value.
  2. 2
Enter an amount and pick the From unit
Type the weight and choose its unit — gram, kilogram, tola, bhori/vori, masha, ratti, pavan/savaran/sovereign, troy ounce or grain. Units are grouped (Metric, South Asian, South Indian, Bullion) so they are easy to find.
  3. 3
Read the result and every other unit
The large result shows your chosen To unit, and a tile grid lists the same weight in every unit at once using Indian (lakh/crore) digit grouping. Use the swap button to reverse the conversion.
  4. 4
    Copy or share
Tap any tile or the big number to copy that value, or use 'Copy all conversions' to copy a full breakdown. A reference table shows exactly how many grams each unit equals under your selected standard.

All conversions run instantly in your browser using fixed mathematical factors. No amounts are sent to any server.
