The microphone starts only after you press the button. Your voice is analysed live and is never recorded or uploaded.

Find your lowest note

Step 1 of 2

Press "Start listening", then sing a note you find easy and slide down slowly, one note at a time. Hold the lowest note you can sing comfortably, without forcing it, for about a second.

Lowest note held:–Press "Start listening" first

Only a note you hold steady for about a second counts, and the test keeps your lowest (or highest) one. If the note jumps by an octave, sing a little softer or move the microphone away and press "Try again".

Use headphones when you play a tone. While a tone plays the page ignores the microphone so it does not hear the speaker.

🔒 Your voice is analysed live in this browser tab and is never recorded or uploaded. The microphone stops when you press "Stop listening", when the tab is hidden and when you leave the page.

How It Works

The page reads the microphone through a Web Audio analyser, estimates the pitch of each short slice with the YIN method, turns it into a note name and cents, and keeps the notes you hold steady to build your range.

  1. 1
    Allow the microphone
Press "Start listening" and allow access. Sing a steady note and watch the note name, the cents meter and the pitch trail follow you.
  2. 2
    Find your lowest note
Slide down slowly and hold the lowest note you can sing comfortably for about a second, then press "Use ... as my lowest note".
  3. 3
    Find your highest note
Do the same going up and press "Use ... as my highest note". Use "Try again" if a reading looks wrong.
  4. 4
    Read your result
See your range, its span and the closest voice type, play the notes with "Play lowest note" and "Play highest note", or press "Copy result".

Your voice is analysed in your browser tab and never recorded or uploaded. Only your last range is kept in this browser, and the microphone stops when you press "Stop listening" or leave the page.
