How It Works

Image compression here uses the browser's built-in encoding engine — the same code that powers Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. No external service, no upload, no privacy compromise.

  1. 1
You drop one or more images
Each image is loaded into a hidden <canvas> element in your browser. The canvas holds the raw pixel data.
  2. 2
Canvas.toBlob() re-encodes at your chosen quality
You pick the format (JPEG, WebP, PNG) and quality level. The browser re-encodes the pixels using its built-in image encoder. You see a live before/after preview as you adjust.
  3. 3
    The compressed file is downloaded
Click Download and your browser saves the result to your device. For batches, individual files or a ZIP are offered.

Even your image previews are blob URLs pointing to memory in your browser — they are never URLs to images stored on our servers.
