New Labour Codes (Code on Social Security, in force from 21 Nov 2025): the codes redefine“wages” so that allowances are capped at 50% of total pay. This can raise the Basic + DA used for gratuity and EPF, increasing both your contributions and your eventual payout. Check your latest payslip and employer policy, as transition rules are still settling.

Estimate only and not tax or legal advice. All calculations run in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere. Verify final figures with your employer or a tax professional.

How It Works

Three statutory India salary calculators in one tool. Everything runs locally in your browser using the official formulas - nothing you type is uploaded or stored. Switch between the Gratuity, HRA Exemption and EPF tabs; each recomputes instantly as you type.

  1. 1
    Gratuity (Payment of Gratuity Act)
Enter your last drawn monthly Basic + DA and your length of service. If the months in your final year exceed 6, the years are rounded up by one (e.g. 11 years 7 months becomes 12). Covered employers use (Basic+DA) x 15 x years / 26; non-covered use / 30. The tool then splits the result against the Rs 20 lakh exemption cap (Rs 25 lakh for central-government staff) so you can see any taxable portion.
  2. 2
    HRA exemption (Section 10(13A))
Your exemption is the least of three figures: the actual HRA received, rent paid minus 10% of salary, and 50% of salary for metro cities (40% otherwise). The tool works in annual terms and shows both monthly and yearly numbers, and highlights which of the three tests is the binding limit.
  3. 3
    EPF maturity projection
You contribute 12% of Basic + DA to EPF. Your employer's 12% is split: up to Rs 1,250/month goes to the EPS pension fund and the rest joins your EPF. Interest (default 8.25% p.a.) is compounded yearly on the EPF balance and projected to your retirement age, with an optional annual salary-growth rate.
  4. 4
    Read the results and copy
Each tab shows a big headline figure plus tappable tiles - tap any value to copy it. The EPF tab adds a contributions-vs-interest breakdown and a year-by-year table. A note flags how the new Labour Codes (effective Nov 2025) may change the wage definition.

All calculations happen on your device in JavaScript - your salary, rent and age never leave your browser and nothing is saved. The figures are estimates to help you plan; confirm final amounts with your employer or a tax professional.
