How do I change my voice with this tool?

Press "Record" and speak, then press "Stop recording", or drop in an audio file instead. Then press an effect such as "Chipmunk", "Deep voice" or "Robot". It is processed and played straight away. Use "Effect amount" to make the effect weaker or stronger, then choose WAV or MP3 and press the download button.

Which effects are there and how do they work?

There are eight effects, plus "Original" to hear your sound unchanged: "Chipmunk", "Deep voice", "Robot", "Echo", "Reverb", "Telephone", "Alien" and "Reverse". Chipmunk and Deep voice change the pitch without changing the speed, using the same time-stretch method as the Audio Pitch Shifter. Robot multiplies your voice by a low tone (ring modulation). Echo and Reverb add delayed copies and a generated room. Telephone keeps roughly 300 Hz to 3.2 kHz and adds light distortion. Alien combines a higher pitch, a warble and ring modulation.

How long can the audio be?

A microphone recording stops by itself after 2 minutes. A file can be up to 5 minutes long, and large files may also be limited by the memory of your device. Echo and reverb add a few seconds of tail to the end of the result so the sound is not cut off.

Can I download the changed voice as MP3?

Yes. Choose WAV or MP3 under "Output format", then press "Download WAV" or "Download MP3". WAV is made instantly and is large. MP3 is encoded at 192 kbps in your browser and needs a one-time encoder download of about 30 MB the first time you pick it. The "Original" choice has no download, because nothing has changed.

Is my voice uploaded anywhere?

No. The microphone recording or file is decoded in your browser, the effects are calculated on your device, and the result is made there too. Nothing is sent to a server. Your browser asks permission before using the microphone, and it stops using it as soon as you press "Stop recording".

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your files are opened and processed inside your browser and are not sent to LibraTool. Some tools first download a processing engine or AI model to your browser; that download contains no data of yours.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. It runs in current mobile browsers on iOS and Android, with nothing to install. Very large files can be slow or run out of memory on a phone, so use a computer for those.
