Free Noise Generator

Mix white, pink and brown noise with rain and ocean sounds, set a sleep timer that fades out, and download a loopable 1 to 60 minute WAV or MP3.

Start with your device volume low. Noise sounds quiet at first and it is easy to leave it too loud, especially with headphones or while you sleep.

Quick mixes

Bright, even hiss that covers speech and traffic.

Softer and more natural, like steady wind.

Deep and rumbling, like a fan or a waterfall.

Rain on a roof, made from filtered noise that flickers.

Slow waves that swell and fade, made from filtered noise.

The slider is capped well below full scale and starts low.

The sound fades out over the last 30 seconds, then stops.

Download a loopable file

Make a file of the current mix to play on a speaker, a phone or a sleep app. It is generated on your device and its end joins up with its start, so it repeats without a gap.

A 50.5 MB WAV (44.1 kHz stereo) or about 4.6 MB as a 128 kbps MP3.

How It Works

The page generates noise samples in your browser, filters and mixes them with WebAudio, and can render a loopable file of the mix on your device.

  1. 1
    Mix your sound
Press a quick mix or move the "White noise", "Pink noise", "Brown noise", "Rain" and "Ocean waves" sliders. Keep the "Volume" low.
  2. 2
    Play it
Press "Play". The noise loops without a gap. Pick a "Sleep timer" to fade it out and stop it for you.
  3. 3
    Make a file
Choose a "File length" from 1 to 60 minutes and press "Make file". The page warns you if the file will be large.
  4. 4
    Download it
Choose WAV or MP3 and press the download button to save a file that repeats seamlessly.

Sound and files are made in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded.
