Free Stamp Maker — Company Seal, Rubber Stamp and Hanko (PNG, SVG)

Make a round company seal, a PAID or RECEIVED rubber stamp, a Chinese square seal or a Japanese hanko in any language, with worn-ink effect, and download it as a transparent PNG or SVG. Runs in your browser.

The background is transparent: place the PNG on a PDF with PDF Sign, or insert it as a picture in Word or Google Docs.

A picture of a stamp is not an official registered seal.

Your files never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser.

How It Works

The stamp is drawn as vector graphics in your browser: the ring text follows a circular path, each line is sized to fit using your browser's own measurement of the font, and seal characters are stretched to fill their square, the way carved seals look. The worn-ink effect is a noise pattern that removes some of the ink. The PNG is the same drawing rendered at the size you choose, with a transparent background.

  1. 1
    Pick a style
Start from a company seal, an APPROVED, PAID or RECEIVED stamp, a Chinese square seal or a Japanese name seal.
  2. 2
    Type your text
Company name around the ring, a word and the date in the middle, or the characters of your seal, in any language.
  3. 3
    Adjust the look
Choose the colour, font, an inner ring or double border, stars, worn ink and a slight tilt.

Save a transparent PNG (500, 1000 or 2000 pixels) or an SVG that stays sharp at any size.

Guide

Worked example

Click "Company seal" under "Styles". The preview shows a round red seal with "YOUR COMPANY NAME" around the top, "CITY" around the bottom, a star at each side and a star in the middle. Replace the top text with ACME TRADING LTD, the bottom text with LONDON, and type EST. 2015 in "Middle line". The middle star goes, because it is drawn only when there is no middle text. Click the second colour swatch under "Ink colour" to make the ink blue. Leave "PNG size" on 1000 px and press "Download PNG". The button reads "Saving…", then a line starting "Saved (" gives the file size. The file is ACME TRADING LTD.png, 1000 × 1000 px, with a transparent background. "SVG" saves ACME TRADING LTD.svg instead.

Which settings to use, and the limits

  • Pick a style before you type. The buttons under "Styles" are "Company seal", "Approved", "Paid", "Received", "Chinese seal" and "Japanese hanko". Each one loads its own shape, text, colour, tilt and worn-ink setting, so it replaces what you typed. "Approved" is a blue round seal with APPROVED and today's date in the middle. "Paid" is a rectangle with PAID, today's date, a tilt of -8° and heavier wear. "Received" is a blue rectangle with a double border. The "Shape" buttons ("Round", "Rectangle", "Square seal", "Name seal") change only the outline and keep your text.
  • Fill the text boxes that match the shape. A round seal has "Text around the top" (80 characters), "Middle line" (40), "Second middle line" (40) and "Text around the bottom" (60). The "Today" button beside the second middle line types the date. A rectangle has "Main line" (80), "Line 2" (40), "Line 3" (40) and "Line 4" (60), and at most four lines are drawn. Empty lines are skipped, so the rest move up, and the main line can be up to twice as large as the others. Letters on a ring shrink to fit: top text may use up to 300° of the ring, or 230° if there is bottom text, and bottom text up to 90°.
  • Use "Square seal" and "Name seal" for Chinese and Japanese seals. "Square seal" has a "Characters (up to 16)" box and reads from the right column, top to bottom. Four characters make the classic 2 × 2 seal; three give a right column of two and one tall character on the left. "Red text (朱文)" draws red characters inside a red border, and "White text (白文)" cuts them out of a solid square, so they are transparent in the PNG. Every character is stretched to fill its cell, so Latin letters look distorted. "Name seal" accepts 12 characters in "Name" but stacks only the first five, and only when they are Chinese characters or kana.
  • Set the ink, font and wear last. "Ink colour" has five swatches (red, blue, green, purple and near-black) and a "Custom colour" picker. "Font" is "Sans" or "Serif", with a "Bold" box. Round seals add "Inner ring" and "Stars"; rectangles add "Double border". "Worn ink" runs from 0 (clean) to 1 in steps of 0.05, and "New pattern" picks a different random wear. The preview and the download share the same pattern. "Tilt" runs from -15° to 15° in steps of 1°. A tilted stamp is saved on a larger square canvas so no corner is cut off.
  • Pick PNG or SVG by where the stamp will go. "PNG size" offers 500, 1000 and 2000 px, set for the longer side of the picture, and the background is transparent. "Download PNG" saves a fixed picture. "SVG" saves a vector file that scales without blur, but its text stays as text with a list of font names ("Arial" first for Sans, "Times New Roman" first for Serif), so a computer without them may draw it differently. The file name comes from the first line of text, cut to 40 characters, with characters that file names cannot hold replaced by spaces. With no text it is "stamp".
  • Place the PNG on your document, and treat it as a picture. Under the buttons the page says "The background is transparent: place the PNG on a PDF with PDF Sign, or insert it as a picture in Word or Google Docs." It also says "A picture of a stamp is not an official registered seal." Whether an office, bank or court accepts it is their decision, so ask before you rely on it. Nothing is sent to a server: the stamp is drawn and saved in your browser.

Common problems and how to fix them

It says "The PNG could not be made in this browser. Try the SVG."
The PNG is made by loading the stamp's SVG as an image, drawing it on a canvas and saving the canvas as a PNG. The message appears if any of those steps fails, and the page does not say which. Press "Download PNG" again, or pick a smaller "PNG size". "SVG" does not use a canvas, so it still works; open it in a browser or a design program, or place it in a document that accepts SVG.
The text I typed disappeared when I clicked a style.
Every button under "Styles" loads that style's own settings, including its sample text, so it replaces your text, colour, tilt and wear. There is no undo. Choose the style first, then type. If you only want another outline, use the "Shape" buttons, which keep what you typed.
The Name seal shows only part of my name, or puts it on one line.
"Name seal" writes top to bottom only when the first five characters are all Chinese characters or kana. When it does, a name longer than five characters loses everything after the fifth, and the field gives no warning. A name with a letter or another symbol among its first five stays on one line instead. Use "Square seal", which takes up to 16 characters, for a longer name.
The text around the ring is very small.
Ring text is fitted to the part of the circle it may use: up to 300° for the top (230° when there is bottom text) and up to 90° for the bottom. The more characters, the smaller the letters. Short text is not stretched around the whole ring. Shorten the text, or move part of it to "Middle line" or "Second middle line", which are drawn straight across the centre.
The downloaded SVG looks different on another computer.
The SVG keeps the words as live text and asks for fonts by name. "Sans" lists Arial, Helvetica Neue, Noto Sans and similar fonts, and "Serif" lists Times New Roman, Noto Serif and similar fonts. A computer that has none of them picks another font, and the letters can be wider or narrower. The PNG is a fixed picture, so use the PNG when the exact look matters.

How it compares

This tool draws a picture of a stamp: a round company seal, a rectangular stamp such as PAID or RECEIVED, a Chinese square seal or a Japanese name seal. You get a transparent PNG or an SVG. It does not register a seal, make a physical rubber stamp, or add a logo or picture, and it offers two fonts, "Sans" and "Serif". Text on a round seal goes on the top and bottom arcs and in up to two middle lines. A design program, or a shop that makes real stamps, gives you more control over fonts, borders and artwork. In exchange, nothing needs installing and the stamp is made in your browser.
