1 Muharram 1447 AH
For everyday dates, not religious determination. This uses the Umm al-Qura civil calendar (astronomical calculation). The actual start of Ramadan and dates of Eid al-Fitr / Eid al-Adha are confirmed by moon sighting and may differ by a day. Don't use this to decide the start of fasting or Eid.

🌙 Converted entirely in your browser using the Umm al-Qura calendar — nothing is uploaded. Reliable for roughly 1356–1500 AH (1937–2077 CE).

How It Works

Converts dates both ways between the Gregorian calendar and the official Saudi Umm al-Qura Islamic civil calendar, entirely in your browser. The forward direction reads the Umm al-Qura date from your browser’s built-in calendar engine (ICU islamic-umalqura); the reverse direction binary-searches Gregorian days against that mapping, so it never relies on parsing a Hijri date.

  1. 1
    Convert either direction
Pick a Gregorian date to get the Hijri date, or enter a Hijri day/month/year to get the Gregorian date. A “today” banner shows the current Hijri date.
  2. 2
    Arabic month names & numerals
Results show Hijri month names in Arabic and transliteration, with an optional Arabic-Indic numeral toggle (٠١٢٣).
  3. 3
Accuracy you can trust — within scope
Reliable for roughly 1356–1500 AH (1937–2077 CE). Because it is the civil Umm al-Qura calendar, the start of Ramadan and Eid (confirmed by moon sighting) may differ by a day — the tool says so prominently.

All conversion happens on your device using the calendar data already in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
