Free Image Steganography (Hide Text in Image)

Hide a secret text message inside a PNG using least-significant-bit steganography, with optional AES-256-GCM password encryption. Extract it later with the same tool. Everything runs in your browser.

Your files never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser.

A smaller picture is much easier to send. Hidden notes need very little room.

How it works. Each pixel's red, green, and blue channels carry one bit of your message in its least-significant bit — invisible to the eye. Output is PNG (lossless); saving as JPEG or WebP afterward would re-compress and erase the hidden bits.

Adding a password encrypts the payload with AES-256-GCM (PBKDF2, 250 000 iterations) before hiding, so even someone who suspects the image carries data can't read it. Everything runs in your browser.

How It Works

Hides a text message inside an image by tucking it into the least-significant bit of each pixel's red, green, and blue channels — visually indistinguishable from the original, and recovered with the same tool.

  1. 1
    You drop a host image
PNG, JPEG, or WebP. It is loaded into a canvas in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
  2. 2
The message is (optionally) encrypted, then hidden bit by bit
With a password, the message is encrypted with AES-256-GCM (PBKDF2, 250 000 iterations) first. Each bit goes into the LSB of an R, G, or B channel — three bits per pixel.
  3. 3
    Download a PNG
The result is exported as lossless PNG. JPEG/WebP would re-compress and destroy the hidden bits, so PNG is the only safe carrier.

Everything happens in your browser. Your image and your message never reach our servers.
