How It Works

A .docx file is a ZIP package of XML files. The page unpacks it in your browser with the open-source mammoth library, turns Word's paragraphs, styles, lists and tables into a clean web page, and keeps embedded pictures as images. Links and pictures go through a safety filter first, and nothing is fetched from the internet.

    Scroll through the document, jump to a section from the contents list, and make the text larger or smaller.

    Check the details
    See the author, the dates and the page and word counts. A note tells you when the document has tracked changes or comments.

    Press "Print / save as PDF", download the document as HTML or plain text, copy the text, or download its pictures as a ZIP.
