How are the words sized?

By how often they appear. The most frequent word is biggest (up to about 150 px on the 1,200 by 800 pixel image) and the rarest are about 16 px. Size grows with the square root of the count, so one very common word does not shrink everything else to nothing.

Which words are hidden?

With "Hide common English words" ticked, a built-in list of about 190 English words such as the, and, of, is and don't is skipped. Untick it to count every word. There is no stop-word list for other languages, so all their words are counted.

Does it work in other languages?

Yes. The text is split into words with the browser's Intl.Segmenter, which handles scripts written without spaces such as Chinese, Japanese and Thai. If your browser lacks it, words are split on letters and digits instead. Words are lower-cased before counting.

How many words can I show, and how big is the image?

Use the "Max words" slider for 10 to 200 words, the default is 80. It reads up to 300,000 characters. The PNG is always 1,200 by 800 pixels. A word that does not fit is shrunk, and dropped if there is still no room. "Mixed" turns about 3 in 10 words sideways, never the biggest.

Is my text uploaded or saved?

No. The words are counted and drawn in your browser tab, nothing is uploaded and the text is not put in the page address. It is not saved either, so reloading the page brings back the example.
