How do I take a photo with the photo booth?

Press "Start camera" and allow camera access, choose a filter, then press "Take photo". After the countdown (3 seconds by default) the screen flashes and your picture appears under "Your photo", where you can press "Download PNG" or "Download JPG". Press "Retake" to replace it.

How does the photo strip work?

Choose "Photo strip" under Layout and press "Take photo strip". The booth takes four shots one after another, each after its own countdown, and joins them into one tall strip with a white border and the date at the bottom. Under "Your photo strip" you can retake one frame with "Retake shot 1" to "Retake shot 4", or all of them with "Retake strip".

Which filters are there and do they show in the saved photo?

There are seven: None, Black & white, Sepia, Vintage, High contrast, Posterize and Pixelate. They are applied to every pixel of the live preview and of the saved photo, so what you see is what you get. The "Mirror view" box, on by default, flips the picture like a mirror in the preview and in the saved photo.

What size and format are the downloads?

A single photo is saved at the camera's size, up to 1280 pixels wide, as PNG or JPG. A strip is 672 pixels wide and 1,992 pixels tall. Files are named like photo-booth-20261007-143015.png, or photo-strip-... for strips, so they sort by time.

Are my photos uploaded or saved anywhere?

No. The camera picture is processed only in your browser tab. The shots in "Shots from this visit" are kept in memory (the newest 20) and are gone when you reload or leave the page, so download any you want to keep. The camera is switched off when you press "Stop camera", when the tab is hidden and when you leave the page.

How It Works

The page asks your browser for the camera, draws each video frame onto a canvas through a pixel filter, and builds the photo or strip from those frames on your device.
