How do I reverse a video?

Add the video, press "Reverse video", wait for the bar to finish, then press Download. The whole clip is reversed unless you move Start or End to pick a part. You get an MP4 that plays on phones, WhatsApp and Instagram.

Is the sound reversed too?

Yes, by default the sound plays backwards along with the picture. Untick "Reverse the sound too" for a silent video.

How long can the video be?

Long videos work: the video is reversed in short parts, so memory use stays low. Files up to about 2 GB work on a computer and about 400 MB on a phone. Longer clips take longer; the time is shown before you start, and 480p is the fastest choice.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is reversed in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm and stays on your device. No account is needed and no watermark is added.

How It Works

The video is reversed in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm. Reversing has to hold every frame in memory, so the clip is cut into short parts from the end backwards, each part is reversed, and the parts are joined into one MP4 without a second encode.
