Free Reaction Time Test
Measure your reaction time in milliseconds: wait for the box to turn green, click or tap as fast as you can, and get your average and best of 5 tries.
Click the box to start. Wait for it to turn green, then click, tap or press Space as fast as you can. You get 5 tries, then your average and best time.
How to read your result
- In a browser test most people land between about 200 and 300 ms for a visual cue. This is a plain range, not a ranking against other people, and age, sleep and practice all change it.
- Your result includes delays that are not you: the screen takes time to show green, and your mouse, keyboard or touch screen takes time to report the press. Together they often add tens of milliseconds, and they differ from device to device.
- For comparable numbers, use the same device and input each time, and look at the average of all 5 tries rather than a single best.
⚡ Your presses are timed inside this tab only. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
How It Works
The page waits a random time, shows green, and measures how long your press takes to arrive.
- 1Start the first tryClick, tap or press Space inside the box. It turns red and waits for a random 1.5 to 5 seconds.
- 2React to greenWhen the box turns green, press as fast as you can. Pressing early shows "Too soon!" and the try does not count.
- 3Repeat 5 timesAfter each valid press your time in milliseconds is shown. Press again to start the next try.
- 4Read your resultAfter 5 tries you see your average, best and slowest time, compared with the range most people reach in a browser test.
Presses are timed in your browser tab only. Nothing is recorded, stored or uploaded.
