Free Bubble Level
Check if a surface is level with your phone: a round bubble level when flat, a bar level on its edge, tilt in degrees and a beep when level.
Lay your phone flat for a round level, or stand it on an edge or hold it upright for a bar level, then press "Start level".
Using it well
- Flat: put the phone face up on the surface. The bubble moves toward the higher side. The two small numbers are the tilt left to right and front to back, and the large number is the total tilt.
- Edge: stand the phone on an edge or hold it upright against a wall. The bar runs across the screen when the phone stands upright and along it when the phone is on its side, and it follows screen rotation.
- To correct a small error, put the phone on something you know is level and press "Set zero here". The flat level and each bar direction are zeroed separately. "Clear zero" removes the correction.
- Take the phone out of its case and wipe the surface. A case or a speck of dust can add a fraction of a degree.
- Desktops and most laptops have no tilt sensor, so this works on phones and tablets.
📐 Tilt readings stay in your browser tab. Nothing is sent anywhere or put in the page address. Only your zero point is kept, on this device.
How It Works
The page reads your phone's tilt angles, works out which way is down, and moves a bubble toward the high side on a round level or a bar level.
- 1Start the levelPress "Start level" and allow motion access if asked. Lay the phone flat, or stand it on an edge.
- 2Read the bubbleFlat, the round bubble moves toward the high side and the numbers show the tilt in degrees. On an edge, the bar level takes over and follows screen rotation.
- 3Set zeroIf the phone reads off on a surface you know is level, press "Set zero here". "Clear zero" removes the correction.
- 4Listen for levelTick "Beep and vibrate when level" to be told when the tilt is within ±0.5° and stays there.
Tilt readings stay in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, and only your zero point is saved, on this device.
