Where are my notes saved?

In this browser's local storage on your device, a moment after you stop typing (the status line changes from "Saving..." to "Saved"). Nothing is uploaded and nothing goes in the page address. Because of that, clearing site data, a private window or a different browser or device will not show your notes, so use "Download .txt" or "Download .md" for anything important.

How do I keep more than one note?

Press "New note" in the "Notes" list and click any note to open it. Type a name in the title box above the text, or leave it empty and the first line is used. "Delete note" asks you to confirm before it removes the open note. You can keep up to 200 notes of up to 500,000 characters each.

Can I save a note as a file or open a text file?

Yes. "Download .txt" and "Download .md" save the open note under its title. "Import file" adds one or more .txt or .md files, up to 2 MB each, as new notes. The notepad is plain text only, so there is no bold or other formatting.

How do I search inside a note?

Press "Find", type a word, then press Enter or "Next" to select each match in turn ("Previous" or Shift+Enter goes back). The counter shows which match you are on, and "Match case" makes the search case-sensitive. Find searches only the open note.

What does focus mode do?

"Focus mode" hides everything except your text, the word count and the save status, and asks the browser for full screen. Press "Exit focus mode" or Esc to come back. "A−" and "A+" change the text size from 12 to 32 px, and "Monospace" switches to a fixed-width font.
