How do I save a still image from a video at an exact frame?

Can I extract many frames at once, like one every 5 seconds?

Yes. Under Auto-extract several frames, choose Evenly spaced frames or Every N seconds, set From and To, then click Extract. A run gives up to 200 frames, which you can download together as a ZIP.

Which image formats can I save frames as, and which is best?

Why won't my iPhone or AVI video load in the frame grabber?

The tool plays the video with your browser's own decoder, so unsupported codecs such as HEVC/H.265 or AVI fail. Try Chrome or Edge, or convert it to MP4 (H.264) or WebM first.
