Noise ID tips
Play a recording with an unwanted noise. Watch the spectrum during the noise vs during silence — the difference reveals the noise's frequency.
Common offenders: 50/60 Hz electrical hum (line frequency), HVAC at 100-300 Hz, fluorescent lights at high pitch.
Once you find the noise frequency, use a notch filter in your audio editor at that exact frequency to surgically remove it.
