💡 Versions 1, 6, and 7 (and ULIDs) embed a creation time, which is decoded above. Versions 4 are fully random and carry no timestamp. Everything is parsed in your browser.

Com funciona

A UUID is not just a random blob — its digits encode a version, a variant, and (for some versions) the exact time it was created. This tool decodes all of that locally.

  1. 1
You paste a UUID or ULID
With or without dashes, braces, or the urn:uuid: prefix.
  2. 2
    The structure is parsed
The version nibble and variant bits are read to identify the format (v1, v4, v7, etc.), all in your browser.
  3. 3
    Embedded data is extracted
For time-based versions (v1, v6, v7) and ULIDs, the creation timestamp is reconstructed and shown as a date; v1 also exposes the node and clock sequence.
  4. 4
    You read the breakdown
Version, variant, normalized form, and timestamp are laid out clearly.

Identifiers can be sensitive (a v7 UUID reveals when a record was created). Everything is parsed on your device — nothing is uploaded.
