The WebAssembly build of FFmpeg (~30 MB) downloads on first use and is then cached for instant reuse.

You choose a format and bitrate
Your file is loaded into FFmpeg's in-memory filesystem. The video stream is dropped (-vn) and only the audio is kept.

FFmpeg re-encodes the audio
MP3 (libmp3lame), AAC, or lossless WAV (PCM) — the same encoders used by desktop FFmpeg, running locally on your CPU.

The audio file is offered for download
The result is handed back as a downloadable blob and can be previewed with the built-in player.
