Common patterns

Compatible with standard Unix cron, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes CronJob, and most scheduling systems. Use * for “every”, */5 for “every 5”, 1-5 for ranges, 1,15 for specific values.

PostgreSQL pg_cron, SQL Server Agent, MySQL Event Scheduler — all use cron syntax. The same expression works across them.

For backups: `0 2 * * *` (2am daily) is the conventional choice. Adjust based on your load patterns.
