Crop E-Commerce Product Photos

Amazon requires 1:1 (square) product images at minimum 1000×1000px. Etsy uses 4:3. Shopify accepts any but defaults look best at 1:1 or 4:5.

For consistency across a product catalog, crop every photo to the same ratio. Mixing 1:1 and 4:3 looks unprofessional on listing pages.

Center the product with about 10-15% padding around it. Too tight = item looks cramped. Too loose = wasted detail at thumbnail size.

Export to JPEG at 92% quality for the optimal file-size-to-quality balance for product photography.
