M4A (AAC) is the native format for iPhone ringtones; MP3 works for most Android phones.
192 kbps is more than enough for a short ringtone played through a phone speaker.
Trim your video to the 20–30 second hook first (in the video trimmer or compressor), then extract just that section's audio.
Preview the extracted audio with the built-in player before downloading to make sure you captured the right moment.
