This is not the same as speed reading. The technique was developed by Swiss typographic designer Renato Casutt in 2016 and has been popularized by various reading apps. Try a 40-50% fixation amount — strong enough to guide your eye, light enough to not be distracting.
Pair with reading-time techniques (Pomodoro). 25 minutes of bionic-formatted reading often feels less fatiguing than plain text.
